Like many other manufacturers, REHAU had to contend with significant problems in spare parts data management. These ranged from incorrect or incomplete data records, such as missing manufacturer information or missing part numbers, to inconsistent data with different spellings of manufacturer names (e.g. "Festo", "FESTO", "Festo Gmbh & Co. KG"). In addition, the search for unstructured data, which was located exclusively in the material short text or in the purchase order text, proved to be tedious and time-consuming.
