Product update: Improved Insights for smarter processing of duplicates and discontinuations

Accurate inventory management is critical for manufacturing companies to ensure smooth operations. Challenges arise when, among other things, there is a lack of complete, consistent and accurate master data or information about available successor products and suppliers for parts that are no longer available. This can become a real challenge even for maintenance professionals.

It's with this understanding that we have launched significant updates to our Insights feature with the aim of simplifying your spare parts planning even further.

Streamlined duplicate management

Processing duplicates in the material master is time-consuming and costly. Therefore, our latest feature allows to mark the 'leading' material number within a group of duplicates. This marked material then serves as the basis for consolidating information from other materials in the duplicate group. If you wish to further process your data in Excel, you can do so efficiently and smoothly via our duplicate export. The export includes all duplicate groups as well as the marked 'leading' material with a separate label.

By flagging a leading material number, you can quickly take the first step to resolving a group of duplicates. This helps clean up your material master data, reducing your inventory costs and increasing efficiency.

Comparability thanks to technical product attributes

You asked; we made it happen! In response to valuable feedback from our users, we have added detailed technical product attributes to the Insight detail pages for Discontinuations with successor product. This ensures that you have access to detailed technical information right when you need it the most, facilitating decision making. In addition, all technical product attributes are integrated on the product detail pages, also for active products.

The technical product attributes allow you to easily compare spare parts and quickly determine whether the successor product meets the required technical specifications. This enables you to make informed decisions about whether a successor product is a suitable alternative for a discontinued part.

These changes will allow you to manage your parts inventory with increased efficiency and confidence.
